The Andalucía Aerospace cluster is part of the European Skills4ADC+ project, an initiative funded by the Erasmus+ program that aims to strengthen professional skills in the aerospace and defense sector in Europe.
The project, which held its kick-off meeting in Rome, will be implemented by a consortium led by the Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (Italy) and comprising 13 partners from seven European countries, including major companies such as Airbus, Navantia, and Rolls-Royce, as well as SMEs, universities, vocational training centers, clusters, and social partners. The other entities comprising the consortium are Aerocampus Aquitaine (France), Ceemet (Belgium), Rzeszów University of Technology (Poland), Industriall (Belgium), Aerospace Valley (France), Carlos III University (Spain), Akmon SA (Greece), and Sekpy (Greece).
In this context, Andalucía Aerospace will be responsible for coordinating the various stakeholders in the European defense ecosystem—including large companies, SMEs, regional governments, and training institutions—to identify the current and future needs of the aerospace and defense sector in terms of skills and training. Furthermore, as the representative body for the Andalusian aerospace sector, Andalucía Aerospace aims to involve the supply chain in the project’s activities, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.
Based on this analysis, the project will enable the design of training and reskilling programs tailored to the sector’s actual needs, helping to improve the availability of qualified talent in an industry that is strategic for Europe.
The aerospace and defense sector plays a fundamental role in the continent’s security, technological sovereignty, and economic competitiveness. However, it faces significant challenges related to attracting and retaining professionals, especially those with technical and highly specialized profiles.
The Skills4ADC+ project was created precisely to address these challenges, promoting innovative and inclusive training strategies aligned with rapid technological evolution and the needs of the labor market.
All participants are part of the Pact for Skills, a European Union initiative to promote training and skills development in strategic sectors across Europe.
