Bombardier C Series / Airbus A220

The Bombardier C Series is the latest programme launched by Bombardier is a family of narrow-body, twin-engine, medium-range jet airliners. The programme has been rebranded Airbus A220, following the agreement established in 2017 between Bombardier and Airbus, through which the Canadian manufacturer transfers 50.01% of the C Series programme to the European manufacturer and which resulted in the creation of the company C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership (CSALP), a joint venture between Airbus, Bombardier and the Government of Québec. The programme is marketed by Airbus but designed and manufactured in Bombardier facilities, with the exception of the engines.

The A220 family represents one of the most efficient aircraft families in its class, with a low cost per trip and a low level of environmental pollution. These aircraft have been specifically designed for the 100-150 seat market and stand out for their lighter weight compared to other competing aircraft in their market, and Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G turboprop engines, designed specifically for this line of commercial aircraft.

In addition, in order to provide greater comfort to its passengers, they are designed and created to offer the feeling of a wide-body aircraft in a single-aisle aircraft.

The program has two different versions, the A220-100 and the A220-300, with capacity from 108 to 160 seats and have a range of 2,950-3,200 nautical miles. They have a length of 35-38 meters, a height of 11.5 meters and a wingspan of 35.1 meters, in addition to an alar surface of 112 meters. The programme has 402 orders and is delivered 25 units.
