Moeve, the company committed to sustainable energy and mobility, which already markets sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the main airports in Spain, joins the Andalucía Aerospace cluster as a new partner.
With this adhesion, Moeve becomes part of the main aerospace and defence industrial ecosystem in Andalusia, where more than 100 companies committed to innovation and sustainability in the sector already collaborate. Its entry reinforces the cluster’s strategic line aimed at promoting the transition towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly aviation.
Moeve focuses its activity on the design and development of air mobility solutions based on green molecules, such as SAF or eSAF produced from green hydrogen, key levers for the decarbonisation of air transport. Its approach combines advanced engineering, sustainability and foresight, aligning with European climate neutrality and CO2 emission reduction targets in the sector. The company is now ready to comply with the European Refuel EU Aviation mandate, which requires the incorporation of 2% UAS at major EU airports from 1 January 2025. In parallel, it is working to go beyond this target by supplying higher quantities of PBS than those set by the Regulation.
The alliance between Moeve and Andalucía Aerospace was institutionalised today at a ceremony held in Seville in which Álvaro Macarro, Director of Sustainable Aviation at Moeve, and Juan Román, Managing Director of Andalucía Aerospace, took part. The signing was attended and supported by the Secretary General of Industry and Mines of the Andalusian Regional Government, José Javier Alonso Membrives.
Andalucía Aerospace welcomes the incorporation of Moeve as a further step towards the diversification of the cluster and the strengthening of new areas of specialisation linked to sustainability, one of the main challenges and opportunities for the industry in the next decade. As its director, Juan Román, puts it: ‘Sustainability is not an option, it is a shared responsibility. Having companies like Moeve that are also working towards this challenge reinforces our cluster and the work being done in the aerospace sector to achieve a cleaner and more efficient aviation’.
Álvaro Macarro, Director of Sustainable Aviation at Moeve, said: ‘We are particularly proud of this alliance with Andalucía Aerospace, which is a strategic partner in a key region for us, where we have been the leading company in terms of production and exports for decades. Becoming a Gold Partner of the Cluster means working even closer together; actively listening to the sector and identifying common objectives. The decarbonisation of aviation is a pillar of Moeve’s Positive Motion strategy. Growing in the social knowledge of the SAF and the tools for a more sustainable air transport will be one of the axes of our teamwork, between Moeve and Andalucía Aerospace’.
