The President of Andalucía Logistics, Miguel Ángel Tamarit, and the President of Andalucía Aerospace, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, have signed a framework collaboration agreement on the first day of FEINDEF, the Spanish International Defence and Security Fair being held in Madrid from 12 to 14 May.
This alliance was signed in the presence of the Andalusian Regional Government’s Minister for University, Research and Innovation, José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, and demonstrates the commitment of both clusters to intensify the achievement of their goals, promote synergies between the logistics and aerospace sectors, and improve the competitiveness of both business ecosystems. Both Andalucía Logistics and Andalucía Aerospace agree on the development of different areas of work where collaboration can generate added value for their associates and for the Andalusian economy in general.
Among the various joint actions that have been contemplated, reciprocal invitations to participate in events organised by both entities, considered to be of mutual interest, thus promoting networking and knowledge exchange, stand out.
Likewise, the participation of the associates in working groups aimed at developing R&D&I projects is also envisaged, promoting innovation and technology transfer between the sectors.
Training and Education Support Programmes will also be developed in the aerospace and logistics sectors, as well as initiatives to attract talent, with the aim of strengthening human capital and specialisation. In addition, joint working days, business meetings and events of mutual interest will be organised, among other actions.
The President of Andalucía Logistics, Miguel Ángel Tamarit, stressed that ‘this agreement strengthens Andalusia’s position in the defence industry, identifying logistics and aeronautics as fundamental pillars for the growth of this industry. We are convinced that the transformative initiatives developed by both clusters will facilitate readiness and growth opportunities for the Andalusian industry.
For his part, the President of Andalucía Aerospace, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, stressed that ‘the aerospace and logistics sectors share common challenges and opportunities for development and technological cooperation. And this alliance between Andalucía Logistics and Andalucía Aerospace reinforces the collaboration between clusters as a way to promote synergies and generate innovation around advanced solutions for the transport, defence and mobility of the future’.
