Airtificial is a technological industrial group specialized in the manufacturing of composite parts and structures and in designing engineering systems, which operates in the aerospace, automotive, civil works, railway and security industries.
Founded in 1999, Airtificial has developed its own technological and manufacturing processes to produce composite structures, allowing the company to branch out into different industries. Its own know-how gives the company an unlimited applicability of the manufacturing processes with composites.
Airtificial stands as a model of knowledge-transferring from the University to the industry. It started as a spin off of the Cadiz University, which was requested by Airbus to assist them to solving a problem with a composite piece for an airplane. The assignment was successfully done and that led to creating the company and start producing airplane composite parts.
Airtificial classifies as a Tier2, a supplier for Tier1 companies and final manufacturers. A Tier2 is the company that produces parts and structures for others to assemble them. Airtificial is a listed company in Spain’s Stock Exchange since March 23rd, 2012. Its free float is that of 40 percent of the shares and its market capitalization has risen over 2,000 percent since then.
Airtificial has over 1,000 employees that operate in 14 plants in six countries (China, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Spain and the US) from three continents: America, Asia, and Europe.
